Velscope

Our office staff is committed to our patient's entire oral health...and we've gone the extra mile to prove it. We now have the Velscope Oral Cancer Screening System available in our office. This device aids in the early detection of oral lesions and abnormalities through tissue fluorescence. Velscope helps our staff evaluate oral tissue for abnormal areas of concern, such as potentially cancerous lesions, which are often undetectable under white light. Typically with the Velscope, healthy tissue appears through the lens as apple green, while a suspicious area is identified by a loss of fluorescence, which appears dark. When used in combination with white light examination, the Velscope is setting a new standard for early detection of oral tissue abnormalities.
